We’re sure it’s a question that you’ve been thinking about ever since we were told to stay at home a couple of weeks ago – but what are you most looking forward to when the lockdown is lifted?

We know how disappointing it must be if you had planned to visit us in the near future, but we cannot thank you enough for all your kindness, support and patience so far during such an unprecedented time, and we honestly can’t wait to see you all when the time is right and it’s safe to travel once again.

We know how important it is for so many of you who can’t be here, to stay in touch with Cornwall, the beach and way of life – so we thought we’d spread the joy and talk about the top 5 things we’re most looking forward to once things get back to normal!

1. Our guests

It might sound soppy but it’s true. At a time when we would usually be ramping up to welcome lots of you for Easter breaks, the coastlines are clear and the Estate is still. We miss you all and are sad that we’re unable to welcome you to our beautiful part of Cornwall at the moment – but we can’t wait to see you with open arms once it’s safe to travel!

2. Beach days

Oh how we’re missing the feeling of barefoot walks along the beach! Whether it’s a blissful dip in the ocean or exploring the coastline by kayak that you’re craving the most, Porthluney Beach is ready and waiting for you.

3. Spending Time with Loved Ones

There’s only one thing more precious than our time, and that’s who we spend it with. I’m sure we’re all in the same boat when we say that we miss spending time with our families and loved ones, but we think that it’ll all be even more special when we’re finally reunited. We can’t wait to welcome all the families and extended families back to the Estate soon, for holidays, weddings, or simply a little R&R by the sea.

4. Eating Out

It might sound trivial, but we’re missing being able to hop in the car, head to Mevagissey and pick up a pasty for lunch! The local restaurants and pubs serve up the most delicious food, and we must say that Cornwall’s food and drink is some of the best in the world (in our humble opinion!) Fresh crab sandwich and glass of something chilled by Mevagissey harbour, anyone?

5. Enjoying the Simple Things

Whether it’s exploring the coastline with a loved one, enjoying a picnic on the beach with family, or simply stopping to admire the sunset, if there’s anything that we’ve learned so far, it’s that the little things in life are, in fact, the biggest things.

We’d love to hear from you if there’s a certain thing about Caerhays or Cornwall that you’re missing? In the meantime, take care and we can’t wait to see you soon.
