From the large windows framing views of the gardens, woodlands and sea, to a sitting room flooded with natural light, every space within the castle reflects an atmosphere of quiet grandeur. These are the features that make a stay at Caerhays truly unforgettable.

The accommodation laid out over three floors has been thoughtfully designed to reflect the timeless atmosphere of the castle.

An entrance hall (original scullery) has stairs leading to the first floor where lies the twin bedroom (which can be a double on request) and family bathroom. Further stairs then lead to the second floor with the main living spaces of a large sitting room, master bedroom with ensuite bathroom and kitchen.

Whilst there is no private outside area, you are just a walk down the drive away from the glorious Porthluney Beach, a peaceful sandy beach ideal for swimming, beachcombing or simply enjoying the sea air.

More About Your Stay

Built in the early 19th century by the celebrated Regency architect John Nash (renowned for his work on Buckingham Palace and Brighton Pavilion), Caerhays Castle stands as a masterpiece of architectural grandeur and historical significance. Privately owned and lovingly maintained by the same family for generations, the castle exudes authenticity, character and charm at every turn.

When the gardens are open, a tearoom in the courtyard serves food and beverages, and there is a beach café at Porthluney Beach just at the end of the drive.

The traditional villages of Gorran Haven and Mevagissey are both a short drive away for a wider range of pubs and restaurants, fish and chips or, of course, traditional Cornish ice cream.
